HDPE GEOMEMBRANCE APPLICATION

At Linetech, we employ High Density Polyethylene Geomembranes or HDPE Floating Cover for a variety of applications. The HDPE Floating Cover is the geomembrane of choice for most applications due to itsdurability against UV exposure and harsh environmental conditions. The HDPE Geomembranes are best use as HDPE Pond Lining, Landfill Lining, canal lining, concrete ringwall lining, storage tank lining as well as lining in mining and aquaculture.

Reservoirs & Ponds

The major usage of polyethylene geomembrane is in the area of liquid containment. The Geomembrane acts as a pond liner, which known as HDPE Pond Lining to prevent contaminants from entering groundwater source or streams. In addition, the HDPE Pond Lining prevents seepage loss thereby conserving millions of gallons of water annually in potable water applications. Typical application include agriculture ponds, golf courses, resorts and other recreational applications.

Biogas Digester Pond Floating Cover

Polyethylene Geomembrane provides an excellent alternative to or supplements concrete and compacted earth in canal linings to reduce the substantial seepage reported by government agencies. The geomembrane offers an expedient method to repair existing deteriorated concrete linings.

Secondary Containment

Polyethylene geomembrane can be used on ringwalls made from concrete to provide a low permeability, high chemical resistance flexible barrier to ensure against accidental chemical spills. It can be placed directly on the ground to prevent ground water containment in the event of spill. The deterioration of concrete structures and steel tanks containing potentially environmentally harmful products makes high density polyethylene the best choice as a secondary containment solution.

Landfills

A critical element in the proper functioning of a landfill containment system is the liner(s) which known as the Landfill Lining. The use of geomembranes Landfill Lining on the bottom and sides of a landfill as an integrated leachate collection system and a leak detection system has been considered necessary for many years. Polyethylene geomembrane, resistant to most wastes, is used as an impermeable, flexible barrier to prevent interaction of landfill moisture with contaminated wastes to form leachate which could have unwanted variable characteristics. Polyethylene geomembranes are used in hazardous and nonhazardous landfills.

Mining

The heap leach method of mineral extraction using sodium cyanide has resulted in low cost extraction of minerals (gold, silver and cooper) from low grade ores. Polyethylene geomembrane is used as an impermeable flexible barrier to prevent contamination of the soil and groundwater by the chemical extraction solutions, as well as the recapturing and recycling of the solutions. In tailing dams it provides a secure membrane between the tailings pile and the environment, including drinking water, as it is able to withstand the pressure exerted onto it by the tailings and the sharp edges from the tailings pile.

Aquaculture

The key benefit of using Polyethylene Geomembrane in aquaculture

  • Provide positive water containment.
  • Prevent loss of dissolved oxygen.
  • Help sustain water quality.
  • Improve working environment.
  • Establish erosion control.
  • Lower maintenance cost.
  • Reduce diseases
  • Manage waste removal.
  • Ease harvesting.
  • Increase turnaround time between crops.
